About Covial Device
The principles for the company’s patented acceleratior/vibratorsensor were developed between 1990 and 1995. The patent for the technology which later on developed into the sensor CD-DDH was applied for in 1995 and covered Sweden, Europe, USA and part of Asia. The patent for Sweden was granted in 1998, in 2000 for USA and in 2003 for Europe. The patent for the AE-sensor was granted in 2004 and covers about 15 countries. Since 2000, the company has intensified its development program regarding sensors and has build up genuine competence when it comes to the possibilities and features of the product. The work has mainly been carried out together with development partners but both soft and hardware has been developed internally during 2005. This has provided the development of several sensor technologies which satisfies different customer needs. Covial Device’s turnover during this period originates from sales of licence and development and consultancy services. Covial Device AB is at the moment considered as a new venture in the development stage and it is now at the end of 2006 that the market break through will be carried out and sales of products will be starting to take place. All resources will during 2006 be allocated to the area of Acoustic Emission, also known as AE sensor technology. The sensor measures high frequency signals which arises when material breaks or is damaged. This included everything from a glass window being broken to a bearing becoming worn out. The first product from this family of applications is a glass break sensor which we aim to launch during autumn 2006. |
